Women’s Leadership Development

Women’s leadership coaching and development programmes focus on strengthening leadership capability, building confidence, and supporting progression, while recognising the additional barriers women often navigate in their careers.

‘Women remain underrepresented at every level of the corporate pipeline, especially in senior leadership, where they make up just 29 percent of C-suite roles’

Women’s leadership development is most effective when it acknowledges that progression is not only about the individual. It is shaped by the systems, expectations, and structures that have historically limited access to leadership opportunities.

Our programmes at Talking Talent create space for women to define their leadership identity, build confidence in their approach, and navigate organisational dynamics with greater clarity – grounded in evidence and real experience.

We partner with organisations to shift the wider environment so that women can progress without needing to adapt to systems that were never designed with them in mind.

Career Strategy & Navigation

Women often make career decisions within systems which weren’t built with their lived realities in mind. This lack of consideration impacts how opportunities are interpreted and pursued.

A coaching environment offers women a space to evaluate their ambitions against these organisational structures rather than some perceived personal limitations, so that career choices become more intentional and defined by themselves, not the system.

Individuals explore the invisible rules operating within their workplaces and examine how systemic bias has shaped previous decisions or constrained options. Crucially, there is also a strong emphasis placed on separating organisational barriers from their own capabilities.

We help women create career strategies that align with long-term aspirations over short-term survival through structured reflection and practical planning. Coaching supports them to navigate ambiguity with greater clarity so that they can move through their organisation with purpose rather than adapting to systems which may not have been designed with them in mind.

Confidence, & Resilience

Our development courses don’t focus on tired cliches about ‘boosting confidence’. Instead, it focuses on strengthening resilience, helping women to recognise their influence and trust their judgement in systems which have historically undermined both.

Individuals explore how previous external narratives, have shaped internal voices that separate what belongs to them from what belongs to the culture. They examine moments where unnecessary adaptation or incorrect self-doubt have emerged not from a lack of capability but from navigating uneven expectations and scrutiny.

Through our coaching, women build a more grounded sense of resilience that is rooted in boundaries, not endurance or overwork. The women’s leadership development  programme supports individuals to challenge unhelpful patterns without seeing systemic bias as a personal deficit but as a structure built to promote others ahead of them.

From this, women create a healthier foundation where they can lead with conviction.

Political Savvy & Stakeholder Influence

Women explore how influence moves through an organisation, discovering where informal power sits and how that shapes decisions. Coaching like this demystifies political dynamics so that navigating them becomes strategic rather than something that emphasises trying to fit into a system.

Participants examine how gendered expectations impact women’s voices and credibility during high-stakes moments. They learn how to build alliances that are rooted in trust, not assimilation. Relationship building of this nature ensures influence aligns with their own leadership identity.

This programme helps women understand how their strength can shift conversations and shape outcomes, both of which can build cross-team cultural credibility.

Building Strategic Networks

Networks are a critical tool for career progression, yet access to them is often uneven. Women frequently find themselves outside the informal spaces where opportunities and alliances are formed.

As well as highlighting the inequality of systems, we also help participants build reciprocal networks that are aligned with their leadership goals, rather than something that is transactional or performative. Through shared experience, women form peer groups that extend far beyond the programme. These groups validate those within them and are all geared toward supporting one another’s growth.

Coaching helps women notice the relationships which accelerate their professional development as well as the patterns that inadvertently limit their visibility in professional roles. Participants learn to cultivate sponsorship so that influential leaders actively advocate for their progression.

As time progresses, these networks create pathways to roles that women are more than capable of succeeding in.

‘Only half of companies are prioritizing women’s career advancement, part of a several-year trend in declining commitment to gender diversity.’
