We join all the people of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the wider global community in expressing our immense sadness over the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. For more than 70 years, she presided over a rapidly changing country, navigating the countless storms of history with an enviable and stalwart dignity. There is no doubt that her leadership and resilience has served as inspiration to millions over the decades, as well as playing a role in reshaping society’s understanding of the value and ability of women. We feel the deepest sympathy and empathy for her family, who have lost not only their country’s head but a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We are confident that her impact on world history will be felt for centuries to come.
