Talking Talent, an innovative coaching consultancy, already at the forefront of developing the female talent pipeline, today announced that Freddie Alves has joined the organisation as Managing Director. He will support their global client base by helping them benefit from developing more inclusive approaches to leadership, talent development, and customer service.
Freddie, who is one of the most experienced leaders in the field of diversity and inclusion, will build Talking Talent’s strategic approach in this area. This will link to clients’ business purposes and be focused on delivering an irreversible change. He will also take to market a unique commercially focused approach to organisational diversity and inclusion under the umbrella ‘Inclusion with Purpose’.
Prior to joining Talking Talent, Freddie spent the past four and a half years living in Singapore and was Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Rio Tinto. In this role Freddie was responsible for transforming the business’ global approach so as to address critical barriers to success.
In his successful career he has advised FTSE CEOs and senior executives, for nearly 20 years, helping them make sense of the way diversity impacts business and helping them enhance the core practices and common behaviours which most strongly link to their results and commercial drivers.
He helped them use that knowledge to build strategies for better performance in key areas such as customer satisfaction, market share or talent retention and engagement. Companies Freddie has engaged with span multiple geographies, sectors and notable multinationals, including Credit Suisse, Barclays, Unilever, PepsiCo, Vodafone and Mobil Oil. It is this broad range of experience that enables Freddie to work with clients in a bespoke and tailored nature, as well as adapt to challenging business conditions and fast-moving cultures.
Freddie’s early career as a scientist and business manager in the Energy industry highlighted how important it was to understand the differences among the individuals, national cultures and business systems he encountered. These practical experiences inspired him to develop a practice helping other leaders understand
Freddie said, “It is a real privilege to be part of Talking Talent. The organisation is dedicated to helping clients create more inclusive and effective businesses around the world. I really resonate with the way my new colleagues support the improvement of both individuals and organisations. The chance to help business leaders succeed by applying what we have learned about diversity and inclusion is just fantastic work.”
Chris Parke, Founder and CEO of Talking Talent said, “After waiting nearly 6 months, it is great to finally have Freddie on-board. I am really excited about the knowledge and experience he brings to Talking Talent, and how we can use that knowledge to deliver tangible commercial benefit to our clients in the diversity and inclusion space.”
