LCP has engaged award-winning coaching consultancy Talking Talent to help its staff and partners as they prepare for parental leave and to empower managers as they support individuals through the parent transition.
The Working Parents Coaching covers the four stages of parental transition:
It is designed to help retain and advance women as they start and expand their families, and can help men feel more comfortable taking paternity leave.
Amanda Treagust, HR Manager at LCP, comments, “LCP is committed to diversity and we firmly believe that becoming a parent shouldn’t be a barrier to success.
“We partnered with Talking Talent to increase support for parents and managers in our business with a view to helping individuals actively engage in their career with LCP before, during, and after a period of extended parental leave.”
As well as offering group and one-to-one Working Parents Coaching, LCP has implemented a number of diversity initiatives including:
LCP is also a member of City Parents which runs seminars and speaker events on a mix of work and family related topics.
Jo Lyon, Co-founder and Managing Director at Talking Talent said, “This is a great programme as it really engages with Partners and the culture as well as ensuring team leaders and individuals are equipped to have powerful and meaningful conversations during the working parent transition. It has been a privilege working with LCP and getting feedback on how the team leader and partner sessions are already having an impact on the experience of individuals.”
Rob Guthrie, LCP Investment Partner, comments, “I found the session very helpful, giving me much more confidence about the appropriate conversations to have with staff, and dispelling some of my preconceptions about topics I should be avoiding. This led to a really positive meeting with a colleague who would soon be going on maternity leave, where we could have an open and productive discussion about how we could accommodate their needs and the needs of the business without any significant issues.”
