Dr. Anna Tavis is Clinical Professor and Chair of the Human Capital Management Department at NYU’s School of Professional Studies. She leads three MS degree programs and manages five certificate programs in Human Capital Management.
Dr. Tavis is a prolific author, with recent books including Humans at Work (2022) and The Digital Coaching Revolution (2024). Her Harvard Business Review articles “HR Goes Agile” and “The Performance Management Revolution“ have been featured in multiple HBR collections.
With a diverse global career, Dr. Tavis has held leadership positions at Motorola, Nokia, United Technologies Corporation, and AIG Investments. Her academic experience includes faculty roles at Columbia University, Williams College, and Fairfield University.
A frequent presenter on Future of Work, People Analytics, Employee Experience, and Workplace Automation, Dr. Tavis is a Senior Fellow with the Conference Board and Academic in Residence with Executive Networks. She previously served as Executive Editor of People+Strategy Journal and is currently an Associate Editor of The Journal of Total Rewards.
